とにかく絵がきれいです。絵だけ見ていても飽きません。
子供は勿論ですが、大人のコレクションとしてもいいですね。
初めて購入した時は、絵が気に入り、子供に（でも私に）・・・のつもりで購入しました。
今回は子供のホームステイ先のお土産品として購入しました。
お話は英語と日本語の両方で書いてあるので、日本の昔話の面白さや大和絵の美しさなんかも伝えられ、先方様にも喜ばれました。

The book is just not particularly good looking. I’ve seen much better versions of this fairy tale. And it is also physically small. So the illustrations are very blah.

Major disappointment. I should have realised by the price.

I was looking for a book that would be a good read in Japanase for my children and this fit the bill perfectly. It has great illustrations, a compelling, traditional story and a story line in both English and Japanese language.

Die Geschichte ist sehr gut für Kinder und Japanischlernende. Die Zeichen sind nur Kana, also keine Kanji. Satzteile sind getrennt, was das Lesen vereinfacht. Leider unterscheidet sich der englische Text sehr vom Japanischen. Allgemein ist der Inhalt des japanischen Textes kürzer, während im Englischen mehr beschrieben wird. Die Zeichnungen sind sehr ansprechend und untermalen die Geschichte auf sehr schöne Weise.
Das Buch ist sehr schön gemacht und gibt auch ein sehr schönes Geschenk ab.

While this is a pretty cool book, it's pretty much a rhyming version of the island heritage edition, which is way better. The illustrations are basically copied out of that book
