    This is an outstanding book on contract law. Explains the common law of contract as evolved in England. The book provides a solid foundation to appreciate Indian Contract Act which is essentially codifies the English common law of contract with local modifications.

    I have Treitel and Cheshire & Fifoot as well as Anson for use in practice but I think Anson is the best and I have each edition since I started studying law in the 80s. The text is clear and practical and not overly academic and I would recommend this above other works
